Disabilities, temporary and otherwise
I have had eleven weeks to contemplate the prospect of never again being able to walk as well as I used to. It will be months before I'll know the extent of any permanent damage to my feet and ankles, but I remain hopeful that I will regain something close to complete mobility in each foot. My left foot is a cause for particular concern, as it was dislocated when the car struck me, however, my right foot is the one where the talus bone is showing signs of avascular necrosis, a condition that could require additional surgery. That would be disheartening. I don't want to be disabled for any additonal period of time beyond what I am already facing.
The driving age should be raised to thirty-five.
